PATTERN PREVIEW: Baby Blanket knitting pattern. November 2024.
A take on the famous ‘Grandmother’s Favourite Washcloth’ this cosy blanket is quick and easy, suitable for beginners. It is intended as a snuggle / baby blanket but could easily be made into a larger throw.
Both my Grandmothers were avid knitters and also both named Chrissie, I’m sure they would’ve been familiar with the original washcloth pattern.
PATTERN PREVIEW: Chrissie's Favourite
Square knitted flat, seamlessly, diagonally, from the corner-up.
Size: Approx. 80cm / 31” by 80cm / 31”. Measurements taken after wet blocking. Guage: 30 stitches = 10cm by 30 rows = 10cm (after wet blocking).
Needles: 5mm / US (UK6 - USA8).
It is recommended to use long circular needles (approx: 120cm / 48” to accommodate the increasing number of stitches.
Yarn: Sirdar Hayfield Bonus Aran with Wool in the colour Ivory Aran. One 500g skein used on 5mm needles. Weight: Allow xxxm / xxx yards. The pattern is adjustable to suit other yarn weights / yardage.
